POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS IN BIOMOLECULAR NMR
Keck/IMD NMR Center
University of Houston
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the Department of
Biology and Biochemistry, University of Houston and associated with the
Keck/IMD NMR Center. The successful applicants will actively participate in
NIH, American Heart Association and Welch Foundation funded projects on
LFA-1 (Prot. Struct. Funct. Gen. 48:151-160, 2002) and Tissue Factor
activation, cellular signaling and methods development.
Applicants will determine the structures of proteins and/or domain complexes
using multidimensional NMR. Each project will also work with other
biophysical methods such as isothermal titration calorimetry, circular
dichroism and BIACORE to explore protein function and ligand binding.
Applicants must have a Ph.D.and/or M.D. degree. A strong background in
heteronuclear NMR methods, pulse program development and solution structure
determination is highly desirable.
The University of Houston possesses outstanding NMR facilities with an 800
and 600 MHz Advance Bruker spectrometers available on campus, and access to
the Gulf Coast Consortium NMR instrumentation. Excellent protein
purification and characterization facilities are available within the
laboratory.
