postdoctoral position in biomolecular NMR

From: beate.bersch@ibs.fr
Date: Fri Jul 26 2002 - 03:14:22 CDT

A postdoctoral position is available in the NMR group of the Institut de
Biologie Structural in Grenoble, France. The aim of the research is the
structural study of methionine sulfoxide reductase, an enzyme implicated in
the protection against oxidative stress. The project implies protein
expression, purification and isotopic labelling, analyses using standard
biochemical techniques as well as mass spectrometry and finally structural
studies using NMR (residual dipolar couplings, protein-protein
interactions). Backbone assignment of the protein has already been
performed and was published in J. Biomol NMR.
The Grenoble NMR group offers an excellent scientific environment as well
as an state of the art NMR equipment (400, 600 and 800 MHz Varian Inova
spectrometers, computer facilities Š) situated in the French Alps. The
actual research activity of our lab is centered on structural and dynamic
studies of large proteins and RNAs with a strong emphasis on NMR
methodology and the development of structure calculations from residual
dipolar couplings.
The successful candidate should be younger than 35 years. Salary
corresponds to 1830 Euros net and the position is available before
01/12/2002.
